New Metro-Detroit Small Business reaches 6 Month Milestone

The timing of this initial blog post feels fitting to reflect on our first 6 months in business. For those who don't know me, I am Leah (Hi!). I have been a mental health therapist for over 15 years. In this time, it has become clear to me all that talk therapy can accomplish, but also where it falls short. I had a vision to improve upon existing mental health treatment by incorporating the 2 missing elements that are crucial to overall emotional wellbeing. Those missing elements are 1. The Body and 2. Community. To care for our holistic health, we have to address all three; Mind, Body, and Community.

Mindful Empowerment offers licensed psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, grief, and addiction both in person in Sterling Height, MI, and online for anyone in Michigan or Illinois. Therapy modalities include CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Somatic therapy. We address the needs of the body with Trauma-Focused Yoga classes, both in person in Royal Oak or virtually via livestream. Online yoga classes can now be attended from anywhere in the U.S.! Finally, to foster a safe and supportive community for healing and meaningful connection, we hold themed workshops, private group yoga classes, and an upcoming day retreat in Ferndale, MI!

Mindful Empowerment has been in business now for our first 6 months! It has been quite a whirlwind. We have held workshops and classes, we’ve built a website, we have moved locations and upgraded our scheduling platform, we’ve expanded access to classes virtually, we've published a Guided Journal in both physical and digital copy, and we continue to grow!

It has been an absolute honor to meet each and every one of you. I am eternally grateful for each person who has been a part of our humble beginnings. As we continue to build our business, it has only become more apparent that the world needs healing. We hope you continue to be a part of our growing community.
